Picking up Ukraine 4

"There they are." A feminine voice spoke.

"I see them. They're heading for that restaurant." A male voice replied.

"Let's follow them. Brother will want to know what that curl head is doing with Big Sister." the female spoke again.

"Yes. We can eat something as well, while we're at it."

The time was 20:30pm

Matthew Williams and Katiyusha Braginskaya entered what was clearly restaurant "Savoy". As the two nations entered, they were quickly welcomed by a waiter, who showed them to their free seats. Luckily for them, there were free spots. Matthew waited for Katiyusha to sit and when she did, he pushed her chair forward to the table like a true gentleman. She smiled happily at him, which caused Matthew to blush, which in return made her blush as well.

Canada sat down as well and the waiter handed the two their menus.

"Make your choices and be sure to call for me, Мистер and Мисс." The man spoke and went to tend to other customers, while they were choosing.

Matthew got a confused look on his face as he stared at the menu. He hadn't eaten in a Russian restaurant before, so he wasn't sure what to choose. His eyes turned to look for Ukraine, but stopped at her chest for a while. A long while. Upon realizing that he was staring, he sat up properly and looked her in the eyes. "Uhm, Ukraine?"

Little did he notice that as he sat up, a knife came flying past his neck. A "yipping" type of noise came from somewhere far into the restaurant.

"D-do you know what's good to eat around here? I'm really not that well aware of the foods here." Matthew said with a slight concern. Ukraine looked back at him and nodded, understandingly.

"Oh, uhm, yes. I'm sorry, I'll see if I can help somehow." She then pointed at a number on his menu. "Well, if you want, you can try the Okroshka soup. It's based on sour milk and the main ingredients of both types are vegetables that can be mixed with cold boiled meat or fish." she explained. Then she felt a bit embarrassed. "Erm, I'm sorry, I must sound like one of the cooks on television, sorry." She looked down.

Matthew shook with his hands. "Oh, no, no, no. Don't worry about it. The way you explained it sounded nice, ha-haha-ha…" he looked again at the number. "Okroshka, you said? I'll certainly have one now with fish~" Matthew said to assure her.

The two conversed over some more food, rather in an awkward fashion, while two sets of eyes were spying on them from a distance.

Bulgaria looked from the corner of his almond eyes at Belarus. "You barely missed him." The older nation said with a calm tone to Russia's little sister.

Belarus gave a small glare to Bulgaria, then turned to look at the couple. "I did not miss. It was just a warning shot… But it seems that he didn't even notice it." She clenched her hands into fists. "He was staring at her breasts again."

Bulgaria coughed lightly, eyes closed. "Well, it's normal, with a pair like hers…" Bulgaria didn't finish his sentence as he felt the sharp end of one of Belarus' knives touching lightly the skin of his throat, right where his Adam's apple was.

"I could kill you and look over them on my own, you know." Natalia said coldly, not moving the knife from where she held it.

He gave Belarus an unimpressed look and took a sip from his glass filled with Rakiya. "You won't do it, so why bother, Bela?" Bulgaria said simply, then looked back towards the couple. "Besides, I am not your enemy."

Belarus pouted and hid the knife in her dress. How she could mass produce those knives out of nowhere was still a mystery, though.

"What will you be having for dinner?" the older nation asked, while going through the menu, being well versed in Russian, unlike the blond that sat far away, now giving out his order to the waiter.

Belarus replied: "Pirozhki with rice and boiled eggs with dill." she replied with a cold tone to match the expression on Bulgaria's face.

Why Bulgaria wanted Belarus to come with him on this "spy mission" was beyond Belarus' brother's understanding, though perhaps Bulgaria had his own reasons.

"As cold as the first time we met." Bulgaria said and took another sip from his drink.

Belarus glared at him from over her menu. "Look who's talking." was her reply. Really, if she wasn't a lady, she would probably stick her tongue out at the older nation, but she was taught better than that.

And so some time passed, each "couple" got their food served to them and they ate, one unbeknownst of the other's existence in the restaurant, and the other weary of the former, as well of each other.

End of Part 4.
